Project Proposal

Section 1: Review
Looking back on the first 7 units I would say that my time management was very good as I always tried to complete it before the deadline so that I can look back over my work and see if I think there could be any areas where I could improve this also meant if there was something I was stuck on I would always have some more spare time to work on it. Also I would say that I have learnt a lot about creating a game, not all to do with the main process of programming, artwork but with the research behind a game so to find if this game would be successful and for project management using Trello to help me keep flowing with a constant pace of work, project proposals to show people your idea if they think its a good idea or not going to be successful and keep developing logs so that after the game as either been successful or not you can look back and see what you did wrong so that in future project you won’t make the same mistake. Comparing this to before I was not really sure how much planning went into a game even before they have started working on it and I had no clue of such sites like Trello or documents that you would present to a publisher like a project proposal, from these things I have learnt I am going to make sure I do them for the final major project to make sure the work I do is the best I can do while still being successful. The reason I have decided to pick programming as my pathway as when I first started to make games before this course when I would always find the programming the most interesting as I felt it added the main enjoyment of a game as that’s the kind of person I am, I don’t look for amazing graphics/ artwork, I like the functionality of the game.
Section 2: Project Concept
This project is going to be a 2d side on game called Mythological head Football created on Unity 5.1.2 where you play novelty football, there will be two players per game with a goal behind them and the aim is to score the most amount of goals in two minutes, the aim of the project is to make a game where you can either play with someone else on the same computer or play against a simple AI, there to be 3 different game modes quick play, tournament and challenges, have different characters from different mythological backgrounds. To help me along with this project some of the research i am going to need to do is which different mythological creatures, I should add into the game, different ways into writing parts of the code so that I can find out which one is the most efficient way and with all this research I am going to store it all in mind maps, mood boards , UML diagrams and pseudocode so that when it comes to creating the assets or writing the code I can look back at the research and develop sketches and level block outs on how things are going to work. The way I am planning to present this project is by setting up the game on a computer where people walking around can test it and leave their feedback on the game.
Section 3: Evaluation
The way I will reflect and evaluate my work ongoing is by writing development logs where I can look back in that week and see if it was successful or see where I went wrong and if I have to change my timeline plan, Trello for ongoing is to keep me going at a constant pace of work so when I have completed something I know right away what I need to start on next without wasting time thinking what I have to do next it’s also flexible so that I can change it around to suit where I am now and it will help on decision-making to improve efficiency on producing the game. At the end of the project when I am reflecting and evaluating on all my work at once these development logs and Trello with a burndown chart will help me see if my time setting of how long each task will take me was right and the logs will make it easier to see any problems and where it occurred.
